I never got the opportunity to meet David, but I knew four of his daughters and they were all very kind hearted, and loyal friends. I will pray for your family that they may have God’s comfort and loving hands around them to help them get thru this sad time in their lives. OH and David, will you give Pammy a hug for me please. David L. Rohde

Memorial services will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for David L. Rohde, age 77 of Grey Eagle who passed away on November 29, 2011 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Darin Towle will officiate. Private interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery in Grey Eagle at a later date.
Family and friends may call after 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.
David was born on May 9, 1934 in Grey Eagle, Minnesota to Edward and Vivian (Walker) Rohde. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He married Esther Hallquist and they later divorced. Dave later married Betty A. Weidendorf on June 29, 1983 in Long Prairie. He was employed as a truck driver at La Salle Cartage Company in Minneapolis for many years retiring in 1982. Dave also owned and operated Brook Park Bar and Grill and the Pub in Cloverdale. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #445.
Survivors include his daughters, Diana (Clayton) Piipke of Blaine and Debra (Trevor McLean) Hall of Australia; son-in-law, Nathan O’Brien; step-children, Robert Beaulieu, Rose (Wyatt) Freitag, Rebecca Mattison, Roberta (Dave) Lindquist, Dwight (Laura) Erb, Donny (Sandy) Towle, Bruce (Carroll) Towle, Lori (Chico) Hellmann, Mark (Margaret) Towle, Ervin (Kara) Towle and Wayne (Janet) Towle; four grandchildren, Andrew, Miranda, Cory and Dilana; two great grandchildren, Logan and Carter; and numerous step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, June Waldvogel, Linda Rohde, Lorraine Denne, Vera Denne, Gerald “Bud” Rohde, and Harold Rohde.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; daughter, Pamela O’Brien; granddaughter, Lacie May Zulawski; brothers and sisters, Frederick Rohde, Myron Rohde, James Rohde, Lavern Rohde, Glen Rohde and Virginia Denne.

I am going to miss my father dearly. I remember a time when we all got together for a family xmas and it made it a wonderful christmas to remember. I will never forget the time i had surgery and dad showed up unexpectedly and sat with me all day. so I remember the favor for him and stayed with him for a week and other days i stayed over nite with him I have soooo many memories of papa that I could go on on on and on but i can’t I LOVE YOU PAPA
Dad, I wil never forget you and all of the wonderful memories I have of us! I LOVE YOU!
