A Funeral Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church in St. Cloud on Monday March 19, at 2:00 PM for Doris Serdula, 87, of St. Cloud, who died March 14, 2012, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the Moline Memorial Park, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 PM on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, and from 1:00-2:00 PM on Monday at the Church.
Doris was born on December 28, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI. She was the daughter of Alvin and Alice (Adolphson) Anderson. She graduated from Moline High School, Moline, IL, in 1943 and from the Moline Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1946. She served in the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps at Fletcher Army General Hospital in Cambridge, OH, where she met George Serdula. They married on June 1, 1947, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Moline, IL. She has been a resident of St. Cloud since 1957. Doris was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Doris is survived by: her children, Dr. Mary Serdula (Dr. Riduan Joesoef) of Decatur, GA, Dr. Jean (Dr. David) Sahlstrom of Wayzata, Michael (Becky) of Edina, John of St. Cloud; grandson Andrew Joesoef of Decatur, GA; sister Phyllis Schmitt of Rockford, IL; brother Lloyd Adophson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Erik Erikkson, Lars Swing, and beloved grandson David C. Sahlstrom

My deepest sympathy to you, Jean, and your family upon reading of your Mother’s death in the St. Cloud Times. My Mother, Harriet Seep will be 96 years old on Easter Sunday, April 8th. She recently fell and broke her right arm just below the shoulder and is now in rehab for her arm at the nursing home. We hope to get her back to her assisted living apartment soon.
I don’t know if Dave & Steve remember when we were kids at Calvary Baptist Church together. I still keep in touch with Bruce Johnson, Joyce (Mauseth) Johnson and Ann (Isakson) Wollenburg. It would be fun to see you at one of our reunions, Jean. I have such fond memories of working with you on “The Tech” newspaper Again, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time.
