Dorothy was born on August 4, 1931, in Shooks, MN, to John and Clara (Schriener) Dockendorf. She attended St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Dorothy worked twelve years in housekeeping at the St. Cloud Hospital, and for ten years in maintenance services at St. Cloud State University. After retirement she kept busy assisting her son Daniel at Kipp’s Laundry. Dorothy loved Minnesota sports and was a die-hard Twins and Vikings Fan, even through the lean years. She enjoyed traveling and often accompanied her children on vacations. Everyone knew she loved to gamble at the casinos, and often got good returns on those nickels and pennies spent on chance.
Dorothy is survived by: children, Frances (Michael) Bursch of Fairfield UT, Jerome (Brenda Aguilar) of St. Cloud, Linda Kippley (Jim Massmann) of St. Cloud, Daniel (Marge) of St. Cloud, Clarita (Jim) Scherer of Long Lake, Patricia (Dave) Pallansch of DeKalb IL, Steven (Judy) of St. Cloud; 18 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers Edwin (Ruth) Dockendorf, Ray (Ann Marie) Dockendorf; sisters Rosemary Jonas, Lorayne (Robert) Reser, Alice Schriefels, and Clarita (Wally) Rennemo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Robert Dockendorf.
Dorothy’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the St. Cloud Hospital CCU Physicians and Nurses, Palliative Care Staff, Hospice Staff, and the Nurses and Staff of Country Manor Living 2nd Floor Rapid Recovery.

To “Fran-she”, Holly (Beezer) and Travis … our condolences on the passing of your mother/grandmother. Enjoyed the video tribute, especially pictures of young Fran. Also caught a glimpse of Holly. Not sure if any of the photos included Travis. It’s been a long time since seeing any of you. Hope all is well with all of you. And again our prayers and sympathy are with you and your loved ones.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers today as you remember your mother and celebrate her life. It is a blessing to have a close family. I remember Dorothy at your fall parties and Kipp, I certainly know where you got your spark from. She was a beautiful woman. Much love to you and the family.
