Our thoughts and prayers are with you all on this sad occasion. My mother Irene always asks about her sisters Edith and Edna, and her brother Harvey. She asks me several times a visit.

June 7, 1914 – November 12, 2011

Funeral Services for Edith L. Thomsen, age 97, of Paynesville will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 16 , 2011 at Paynesville Lutheran Church. Edith passed away peacefully on November 12, 2011 at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Reverend Dan Dornfeld will officiate. Burial will take place in the Paynesville Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.
Edith was born June 7, 1914 in Hartington, Nebraska to Carl and Minnie (Theodorf) Feldman. She graduated from high school in Gurley, NE and attended teachers college in Chadron, NE. She taught for two years in a rural school near Gurley where she met her husband Theodore Thomsen. She married Ted on February 22, 1936 in Lodgepole, NE. They lived in Gurley until 1946 when they moved to Paynesville and farmed in Roseville Township.
Edith worked at the Paynesville Hospital as a nurse’s aide, and later as a LPN until her retirement. She was active in the Paynesville Lutheran Church for many years, serving on the Altar Guild, in circle and in the quilting group.
Edith is survived by her children Irene (Dal) Bjerke of Bloomington, Lyle (Kathy) Thomsen of Paynesville, Trudy (Tony) Quill of New Richmond, WI and Denise (Norm) Holte of Cheyenne, WY, son-in-law Robert Deadrick of Esko, MN, 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and sister Irene Sears, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Ted, daughter Eleanor Deadrick, sister Edna Lee and brother Harvey.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to Paynesville Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society or Alzheimers Association.
