Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Edmund C. “Sonny” Zimmerman, age 65 of Waite Park who passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at his home. Reverend Ralph Zimmerman will officiate. Inurnment will be private.
Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. The St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622 will pray at 6:30 p.m. followed by parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Sonny was born on June 4, 1941 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Edmund and Elizabeth (Able) Zimmerman. He married Anne Reiter in 1963, she preceded him in death. Sonny married Phyllis J. Theisen on July 8, 1985 in St. Cloud. He was employed as a truck driver by Stemm Transfer in St. Cloud until his retirement in 2004. Sonny was a member of the St. Cloud Eagles Aerie #622 and St. Joseph Parish.
Sonny was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be missed by family, friends and all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; his daughter, Mary (Scott) Reid of San Jacinto, California; stepchildren, Jody (Mitch) Anderson of Sartell, Steven (JoAnn) Boelz of St. Cloud; six grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Rose Zimmerman of Mount Vernon, Oregon and Sharon (Melvin) Kramer of Waite Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
