Emma L. Henry

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2006 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Emma L. Henry, age 82, of St. Cloud who passed away Friday, June 30th at home surrounded by her loving family.  Reverend Luke Steiner, OSB will officiate.  Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.

Friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.  Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  

Emma was born on March 6, 1924 in Beeville, Texas to Steven Guy and Cora Mae (Atkins) Barclay.  The family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where Emma attended Incarnate Word Academy and later was a bookkeeper in Corpus Christi Bank and Trust.  She married Lt. Donald Henry U.S. Navy on September 20, 1946 in Corpus Christi Cathedral and they moved to St. Cloud in April, 1948.  Emma was a member of St. Augustine’s Parish, St. Anne’s Christian Women, the Women’s Guild, the French Canadian Society, RSVP, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life and Human Rights, Whitney Senior Center, NARFE, and AARP.

Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family.  Emma also enjoyed all types of dancing and traveling to military reunions.

Emma is survived by her husband, Donald of St. Cloud; children, Greg (Julie) of Cedar, Jeff (Ann) of St. Louis, MO, Mark (Kathy) of St. Cloud, John (Sandy) of St. Cloud, Tim of Campe Verde, AZ, Francine (Mark) Wright of St. Cloud, and Jennifer (Ron) Kor of St. Cloud; 20 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brothers, Steve (Megan) Barclay of Austin, TX, Sterling (Nancy) Barclay of Breckenridge, CO; and other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Connie Wesenberg on April 25, 2003; grandson, Andrew Kor on Nov. 14, 2001.

Memorials are preferred to the Whitney Senior Center and the Poor Clare’s Monastery in Sauk Rapids.
