Evelyn was born on July 28, 1920, the daughter of William and Celestine (Henry) Stibal in Foley, MN. She was the youngest of four. She was a cheerleader and drum majorette at Foley High School. She taught her granddaughters to sing the Foley cheer song with her. November 25, 1943, on Thanksgiving Day, she married Peter Truszinski at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. Ev was one of the 12 women who were charter members of the St. Cloud Mrs. Jaycees. Her passion was playing bridge with friends and enjoying the company of family and friends. Ev was rich with friends and neighbors who were so good to her. She was a homemaker all of her life. She was a delicious cook and known for her banana bread, which she sent to her children and grandchildren when in college. Ev was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, the Mrs. Jaycees, the Daughters of Isabella, the Christian Women, and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Janet Beringer, Kaukauna, WI, her son, Tom (Carmen) Truszinski, Eagan; six grandchildren, Lisa (Fred McKissack) Beringer, Kristin (Allen) Feyen, Kaity, Emily, Molly and Joey Truszinski; and great-grandchildren, Mark McKissack, and Julie and Charlie Feyen; brother, Will; and in-laws, Eileen Stibal, Arlene Truszinski Clement, Marge and Wally Pattock; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Pete, brothers Ed and Gene, in-laws Laura Stibal, Delores Stibal, Cyril “Butch” and Bernice Truszinski, Jerome “Mike” Truszinski, Roman and Elaine Truszinski and son-in law Mark Beringer.

The family wants to give Special Thanks to the caring nursing staff on the 4th floor at St. Benedict’s. She considered that “Home” and all of you “Family”.

Dear Janet, families and relatives of Evelyn. Thought and prayers are with you all! Only learned of her passing at Church tonight or would have been there with all of you! May God comfort all of you at this difficult time.

Just because it was expected, does not make your loss any easier. My prayers are with you and your family.

Tom & Carmen-
We are thinking of you during this difficult time. You have a wonderful and caring family that will help you get through this.

My thoughts and prayers are with each of you!

Evelyn was my Godmother and I loved her. I am in Australia so I will not be able to attend. She and her family are in my prayers.

Ev, your graciousness, warmth and easy laughter will be well remembered.

My heart goes out to Tommy and Janet, your mom was so special to all of us. She is surely with the angels and can now check in on the tricks Uncle Pete is playing on the others up in heaven.

Aunt Ev, may you rest in piece. Your home was always such a special place to visit for me. God bless, Joan

Mom, you were a wonderful mother. My friends always enjoyed the way you smiled and welcomed them into our home. You are in the arms of Jesus now! You are missed!
