Francis T. Malley

October 10, 1926 – July 4, 2013

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Francis T. Malley, age 86, of St. Cloud. Francis passed away July 4, 2013 at his home with his family at his side. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 8 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.

Francis was born October 10, 1926 in Wykoff, MN to Thomas and Margaret (Wilbright) Malley. He grew up on the family farm, attended District 76 Country School grades 1-8, and attended Wykoff High School. He married Jeanne Olson on April 18, 1945 at St. Killian’s Catholic Church in Wykoff. He worked at the Wykoff Co-op Creamery and learned the trade of butter making. He managed Money Creek Creamery in Houston, MN, then on to Centerville Co-op Creamery in Centerville, WI. He moved his family to St. Paul where he became a Sales Representative for Lincoln Dairy Equipment and Supplies for 20 years for the central and northern Minnesota territories. During this time he became Sales Manager in Madison, WI for 2 years. He then became Sales Representative for Thermo King for 25 years. During his time with Thermo King he was National Salesman of the Year in 1974. After retirement in 1991 he worked for Badger Truck Refrigeration as a Sales Representative. He has been a resident of St. Cloud since 1957 and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church and St. Cloud Eagles Aerie 622.

Francis enjoyed fishing, music, dancing, teaching family how to fix cars, traveling, and spending 27 winters in Arizona. He especially took pride in grooming the yard and caring for his home in St. Cloud. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, storytelling and his “Irish Wit”. He enjoyed life and encouraged his family to enjoy it to the fullest. He loved his family deeply.

Francis is survived by his wife of 68 years Jeanne, children Sheila (John) Kozar of Excelsior, Terry (Char) of McGregor, Kim (Gary) Gillitzer of St. Cloud, Michele (Mark) Zinken of St. Joseph, and Michael (Kristi) of Sartell, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and brother Kenneth (Pat) of Preston, MN.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Clayton.

Francis’s family would like to thank St. Cloud Hospital Hospice for the wonderful care he received.

I only met your dad once Terry-Doug maybe met him a few times, but we both said, “what a fun dad.” We had dinner with you and your family in Arizona and he had great stories and a real zest for life. We are sorry for your loss.

We knew him when we first moved to the Lost Dutchman .He saw us struggling with a piece of furniture and came over to help us.Then seen him at events.God bless
