Genevieve "Jenny" R. Sand

January 15, 1948 – March 7, 2026

Genevieve “Jenny” Rose (Blonigen) Sand, 78 of St. Cloud, Minnesota died on March 7, 2026. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 11:00am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, St. Cloud. Rev. Derek Wiechmann will officiate. Burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, New Munich.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to mass at the church.
Born January 15, 1948, to Nicholas and Ida Blonigen of St. Martin, Jenny lived with her parents and 6 siblings on the family farm. In March of 1970 she came to live with her sister Mary in Minneapolis to help care for her 2 kids, Tammy and PJ. Eventually Mary moved to Avon and Jenny moved with her.
In 1971, she was a bridesmaid in her sister Carols wedding. It was there that she met her future husband, the love of her life Severin. They were married on July 27, 1972, at St. Martin Catholic Church. They moved to St. Cloud and built a happy loving life in their little yellow house on 31st Ave. Jenny worked at The Original Pancake House and McMillians. They enjoyed going out to eat and going to the cities to visit her 2 sisters and brother. They took many fun trips to Hawaii, Washington DC, Canada and Las Vegas. They even took an Alaskan Cruise with her siblings. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage before Severin passed away in 2019.
Jenny is survived by her sister Mary Decker, her brother-in-law Roman Thull, her sister-in-law Bonnie Blonigen and her sister-in-law Marylou Blonigen along with many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Jenny is proceeded in death by her husband Severin, her parents Nicholas and Ida, her brothers William, Alcuin, Gerald and Alfred, and her sister Carol.
She is also preceded in death by her brother-in-law Jim Decker and her sister-in-law Carolyn Blonigan, her niece Stephanie Andreason and her 2 nephews Steven Blonigan and Billy Blonigan.
We would like to thank all the staff at Edenbrook of St. Cloud for all their years of loving care that they provided Jenny.
