George B. Senger

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of George B. Senger, age 90, of St. Cloud will be at 10:30 am on Friday, August 21, 2009 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. George died on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Arlington Place in St. Joseph surrounded by his loving family and friends. The Rev. Bernard Gruenes will officiate. Entombment will be in the Assumption Mausoleum with full military honors.

Friends may call between 4-9 pm on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 9:30 am on Friday at St. Michael’s Church. St. Michael’s parish prayers will be at 5 pm on Thursday at the funeral home in St. Cloud followed by Waite Park American Legion Post 428 at 6 pm and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622 at 6:30 pm.

George was born on June 3, 1919 in Gilfillan, MN to John and Frances (Wimmer) Senger, Sr. He served in the US Army during WW II. He married Bernice Ramler on June 1, 1946 in Albany. He was employed as a tool and die maker at DeZurik’s for 32 years. He was a member of St. Michael’s parish, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622, Waite Park American Legion Post 428 and the International Brotherhood of Machinists.

George will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He loved to play cards and cribbage, was an avid Twins fan, and a great fisherman. He was loved by all who knew him and will truly be missed.

Survivors include his children: Margaret “Marti” (Jerry) Stang of Clear Lake, Dennis (Kathy), Cindy and Daryl (Lynda) all of St. Cloud; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and Temple Senger Gilchrist of Monticello; sisters: Sister Marcienne of France and Marie Soukup of St. Paul.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Bernice on August 14, 2001, son Steven on May 15, 2005, brothers and sisters: John, Jr. Leonard, Albert, William, Margaret, Mary, Otto and Edward.
