A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at the Good Shepherd Chapel in Sauk Rapids, MN for Georgiana Wilhelmina Friedrich who was a resident of Good Shepherd Nursing Home. The Reverend Ronald Weyrens of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids will be the celebrant. Inurnment will be in the St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery in St. Joseph, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the Good Shepherd Chapel.
Georgiana was born on March 28, 1923 in St. Cloud, MN the daughter of George and Mildred (Mugg) Warnert. She grew up and attended school in St. Joseph, MN. Georgiana was united in marriage to Werner R. Friedrich on June 8, 1944 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Thirteen children were born to this union. The Friedrich family lived on a farm near St. Joseph were they raised their family. After Werner died on November 17, 1986, Georgiana continued to live on the farm until January of 1990 when she moved to St. Cloud. This was her home until June of 2010 when she became a resident of the Good Shepherd Community in Sauk Rapids.
She was a devoted, wife, mother and homemaker. Georgiana also enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. In her later years she enjoyed traveling to Germany, and celebrating her 80th birthday in Hawaii. She valued her faith, cherished her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, two sons Daniel and Robert, one daughter Kathleen Larson, two brothers, Melvin and Urban Warnert, and one sister Valeria Friedrich.
She is survived by ten children, Donna (Dan) Freitas, of Anchorage, AK, Diane (Dick) Parsons of Lincoln, NE, Cherlyn “Cheri” (Gregg) Brink of Lakewood, CO, James (Joanne) Friedrich of Sartell, MN, Bill (Shelly) Friedrich of St. Joseph, MN, Susan Friedrich of New York, NY, Dr. Thomas (Grace) Friedrich of Chesapeake, VA, Jeffery (Jessica) Friedrich of Aurora, IL, Lisa (Gerald) Braegelmann of St. Joseph, MN, and Kris (Lisa) Friedrich of Sauk Rapids, MN, 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
