Daniel Funeral Home & Cremation Service

Gertrude A. Danzl

July 5, 1936 – May 25, 2010

On Tuesday, the 25th of May 2010 Gertrude A. (Gerty) Danzl finished her journey in this life.
A wake will be held in her memory at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud on Thursday evening (Today) from 4-9 p.m. with a prayer service led by Father Bernie Gruenes at 5 p.m.
Gerty was born on July 5th, 1936 in St. Cloud to Francis and Clara (Fussy) Kuffel. She attended Cathedral High School followed by nurses training at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. After attaining her Practical Nursing license she worked for over twenty years at the St. Cloud Hospital before leaving nursing. She returned to work at Fingerhut where she spent 13 years, retiring in 1998.
On July 5th, 1958 she married Robert Danzl at St. Anthony’s Church in St. Cloud. Together they raised two wonderful sons, Kirk of Maple Grove and Scott of Minneapolis. She gained daughter Luann through the marriage of her son, Kirk and two glorious grandchildren out of that marriage, Allison and Kalvin.
As Gerty struggled the last few years to get every breath out of her allotted time in this life, she and her husband were forced to become quite reclusive, which enabled them to share some of the closest and most endearing experiences of their 52 year marriage.
Gerty is survived by her husband Robert of St. Cloud, son Kirk (Luann) of Maple Grove, son Scott of Minneapolis, granddaughter Allison and grandson Kalvin both of Maple Grove, sisters Cordelia Henning of St. Cloud and Margaret Henning of Sartell, brothers and sisters-in-law, Sylvester and Marion Danzl of Bismarck, ND and Donald and Pat Danzl of Rockville, MN, aunt, Eleanor Staneart of Sartell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gerty was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Lawrence, Gerald and Jerome and brothers-in-law Richard and Raymond Danzl.

So sorry for your loss.
Gerty and I use to play together when we lived on 21st.
She was always a good friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Linda and Vicki, old fingerhut crew.

You all are in my thoughts and prayers. My favorite memories of Auntie are sitting around the kitchen table, listening to her work stories, listening to her laugh and watching her picking tobacco off her tongue from her Pall Malls. All my Love to you at this time for tremendous loss.

It’s Been Along time that we seen each other. But one never forgets friends. Sorry for your loss.
