November 18, 1926 – June 13, 2010
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church for Grace Fritz, age 83, of St. Cloud who passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Sunday, June 13, 2010. Reverend Gregory Lieser will officiate. Burial will take place in St. Benedict’s Parish Cemetery in Avon.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (TODAY) at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Grace was born on November 18, 1926 in St. Cloud, Minnesota to Ernest and Katherine (Gaetz) Sjogren. She married Donald F. Fritz on May 13, 1947, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. She was a former member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church where she taught religious education, served on the parish council and was also a member of the Christian Mothers. Grace was later a member of St. Peter’s. She was a volunteer at Catholic Charities and at St. Peter, Paul, and Michael School.
Grace’s greatest joys were her family and children. She was also an avid reader.
She is survived by her children, Joe (Gerri) of Waseca, Bill (Ryan) of Palm Springs, California, Carol (Tony) Streff of Princeton, Kris (Paul) Dobbel of Marshall, Wisconsin, Geri (Tom) Herges of St. Cloud, Andy (Jodi) of St. Cloud, and Patty (Steve) Nistler of Rosemount; 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donald in 2001; 2 infant grandchildren; brothers and sister, Ralph, Gene, and Florence.

I’m sorry for the loss of your mother. On behalf of the AHS Class of 1980 (and myself, personally), you have my sympathy. I’ll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Your mother was a wonderful woman and a gentle soul. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Another one of my lovly aunts has passed on to the Lord. It saddens me that we will not be able to be there as with the others. Our deepest condolences, love, and prayer to the family. Many memories swell up when I think about our large family. Most of them at the Lake going back to the mid 50’s. Gracie and Don figure prominantly in those memories.
Our deepest sympathy to the Fritz family in the loss of Grace. Grace was a wonderful woman and will be deeply missed by all.
