Harriet A. Haffner

September 29, 1932 – April 28, 2026

Harriet Arlene Haffner passed away peacefully on April 28th 2026 at the age of 93. She was born on September 29th, 1932 in Medford, Oregon to August William Wheeler and Elizabeth/Beth Ellen (Lamb) Wheeler.
On September 14th, 1956, she was joined in holy matrimony to Vernon Theodore Haffner. Harriet and Vernon were blessed with 3 daughters. Mary (Michael) Bonnell, Elizabeth/Bette (Dan) Alfords, and Katherine/Katie (Mark) Smith.
They resided on the Haffner family farm located east of Buffalo. In addition to farming, Harriet worked for the Buffalo National Bank in Buffalo, MN. She did not like being a teller, so she worked in the bookkeeping department for over 30 years. After she retired, she loved to reminisce about her time working for the Lundsten family and how banking had changed over the years.
Harriet was preceded in death by her parents August and Beth Wheeler, her husband Vernon Haffner, Sister and brother-in-law Cherril and John Granlund, and her sister-in-law Marlys (Bill) Wheeler.
She is survived by her daughters Mary, Bette and Katie, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be held on Saturday May 30, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buffalo, MN. Reviewal will begin at 11:00 AM with the funeral service at 12:00, internment to follow at the church cemetery.
