Helen A. Suess

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rockville for Helen A. Suess, age 87, of St. Cloud, who passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 13, 2026 at her home.  Reverend LeRoy Scheierl will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rockville.

Helen was born on November 13, 1938, to Joseph and Mary (Ragancik) Zupko in Flensburg, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm in Flensburg and graduated from Little Falls High School. She was united in marriage to Carl J. Suess on September 14, 1959, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg. She worked for Mattson’s Pet Supply Company as a bookkeeper for many years.

Helen was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, going dancing, playing Poker, and carrying on Czechoslovakian traditions and meals. She will be remembered for her love of family, her strong-willed nature, her good sense of humor, the indulgence of an occasional libation and her lead foot.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Carson; grandchildren, Jacob (Amanda), Jessica (Tony) Beckwith, Brianna Suess, Blake (Steph), Andrew (Katie), and Alyssa Carson; great grandchildren, Karson, Varian, Elijah and Chloe; daughter-in-law, Theresa Suess; brother-in-law, Merrill Peterson; her beloved cat, Goldie; and many relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert; siblings, Michael (Vangie), Joseph (Mary Lou), Agnes (Ward) Anderson, Marge Peterson and Mary (Clayton) Thiebault.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
