Helen C. Kociemba

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell for Helen C. Kociemba, age 87 of Sartell formerly of Holdingford who passed away on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will take place at St. Hedwig’s Parish Cemetery in Holdingford.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. Francis Xavier Parish Gathering Space in Sartell. Parish prayers will be 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Gathering Space. Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Helen was born on July 28, 1923 in Farming Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Andrew and Margaret (Mergen) Wolf. She married Clemens A. Kociemba on August 1, 1942 at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Holdingford. She was employed by The Fun Center in Holdingford, Armour Dial in St. Cloud and at the Holdingford High School. Helen was involved as a Foster Grandparent in the Holdingford and St. Cloud area. She was a member of St. Hedwig’s Rosary Sodality, a former member of St. Hedwig’s Parish and Choir. Helen was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Prayerline, the Silver and Gold Club of Holdingford.
Survivors include her children, Joyce Heitzman of Sartell, Margaret Dorweiler of Sauk Rapids, Lenny (Sheila) of St. Joseph, Mary of Sartell and Daniel (Sara) of Champlin; grandchildren, Ken, Susan, Deanne, Kallie, Jake and Tara; great grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, Michael, Grant, Sammi, Gavin, Lydia Helen and Aislinn; and sister, Luella Koziol of St. Paul.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 13, 1978; grandson, John Heitzman; sons-in-law, Don Heitzman and Edward Dorweiler; brothers, Adam, Ted, George, Joe, Michael, Andy, Leo and John; and sisters, Carrie Gresser, Kathryn Holthaus, Mary Fischer and Margaret Theis.
