Herbert M. Pflueger

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Herbert M. Pflueger, 72, of St. Joseph, who died May 30, 2008, at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Reverend Al Stangl and the Reverend Daniel Durken, OSB, will concelebrate. Burial with full military honors will be in the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday and after 9:30 AM Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 PM, Eagles Aerie # 622 will pray at 6:30 PM, and the Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post #428 will pray at 7:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Joseph.
Herbert Mathew Pflueger was born on July 15, 1935 in St. Joseph to Robert and Louise (Philippi) Pflueger. He married Dorothy O’Brien on April 19, 1958 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Herb graduated from Technical High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 – 1957. Herb worked at St. John’s Liturgical Press for 43 years, and volunteered for Johnnie athletic events. He volunteered at the VA Medical Center. Herb loved fishing, and sporting events. Herb was a member of the Waite Park American Legion Post #428, Eagles Aerie #622, St. Joseph Rod and Gun Club, and the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joe.
Herb is survived by: his wife Dorothy; children: Ken of Avon, Steve (Melodi) of Spokane, WA, Kathy O’Roark of Avon, Brad of Albany; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters Alice (Dennis) Schmitt, Jane (Bob) Simon, Irma Hoffmann, Mary Ann (Ron) Rennie; sister-in-law Mary Pflueger; brothers Dave (Kathie), and Tom (Audrey).
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ray.
