Holly was born on May 21, 1970, in St. Cloud to William and Karen (Knettel) Peternell.  She married Dan Justin on September 25, 1993 at St. Stephen Catholic Church in St. Stephen. Holly worked as a nurse for both for the Sartell School District and most recently for the St. Cloud V.A. Medical Center.

Holly’s life was characterized by her passion for helping others as a nurse and her love for animals. Her compassion and dedication shone through in her work, touching the lives of countless patients. Outside of her nursing career, Holly found joy in competing in horse shows. Her skill and love for horses were evident to all who knew her. Holly’s greatest pride and joy, however, were her family. Her love and support were unwavering, and she took immense pride in watching her children grow and pursue their passions.

Holly was a dedicated nurse, loving wife, and proud mother. Her presence brought warmth and joy to those around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Holly is survived by her husband, Dan of St. Stephen; children, Cailin and Alan; and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Dear Jeanette, Dan and family,

I am deeply saddened by the news of Holly’s death. I know you cherish all the time you have with family; and your time with Holly was way too short.

I wish I could be there with you as you celebrate Holly and the memories you all made as a family; but I an visiting in Chicago this weekend and am unable to make it back in time for the services.

Jeanette, I will be home after April 15, and my first call will be to you.

I seem to just miss seeing you and the other family lately at different services,

Know that you ate all in my thoughts and prayers, and I will make a stop at the National Shrine of St Theresa and say some prayers for Holly.

May the love of God surround you all in the coming days.

Love,
Mary Beth

My heart is broken. Looking back on the good times and still finding myself in disbelief. The world is more empty without you in it, and we have all lost part of ourselves in losing your presence and light. Rest in peace, love, and prayers.

Justin Family- My heart is breaking. Holly had a gentle and loving soul. She practiced humility and was kind to all. She smiled so large, her eyes would get lost in her cheeks. She is a friend to forever remember.

My sweet Holly I will always remember the good crazy times we had you are missed

I am blown away with this announcement! I did not know your mother well, I had met her through other Horse friends a few times. When we first met, we quickly connected because she is just such a bright light! We became friends on Facebook and followed each other’s adventures with horses. She was even kind enough to give my son a very beautiful men’s suit for him to compete him. I am just so very sorry for your loss. Way too young and wonderful to be gone from this world too soon!
