Irene F. Pozorski, age 94, of St. Cloud, passed away August 23, 2009 at Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud. A private funeral Mass, as Irene wished, will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at Talahi Care Center Chapel.
Irene was born on February 24, 1915 in Bowlus, MN to Irey and Mary (Rudie) Scheerhorn. She married Walter Pozorski on October 17, 1932. They were blessed with three children. Irene owned a floral shop in Sauk rapids before moving to St. Cloud. She loved flowers and her yards always proved she never lost her “green thumb”. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and Christian Mothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband August 14, 1982, sons Michael and Don, sister Johanna Sumbs and brother Ambrose Herman.
Irene is survived by her daughter JoAnn (Roger) Deters, brother George (Helen) Herman, eight grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, godchildren, nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the staff a Talahi, but to the “East Wing Girls” Kim, Jessica, April, Kathy, Bea, Jamie, Kelly, Elsie, Tracy, April and Ginny, your unconditional care and love for Irene as she traveled her long journey home, sincere gratitude to you special girls.
JoAnn and family members: You have my heartfelt sympathy on the passing of your Mom and my Aunt. She was my favorite on my Dad’s side. I loved when Al & I played Yatzee when she lived on the River Road & all the times I visited her when we lived on 10th in St. Cloud. Thank you for allowing me to get some of her craft things. I will cherish them as I will all my memories of her. God bless you all with his peace.
Tami, I still pray for you every day..you are quite a woman.
