James R. Burke

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July11, 2006 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in St. Cloud for James R. “Jim” Burke age 52, of St. Cloud who died Monday July 3, 2006 at his home after suffering a heart attack.  Entombment will take place at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum with full military honors.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 10 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.  Parish Prayers will be held at 6 p.m.  Visitation will continue after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.

Jim was born October 18, 1953 in Duluth, MN to James and Margaret (Johnson) Burke.  He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1972. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 -1975.  He married Sandi Becker on September 26, 1981 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids.  After graduating from vocational school he went to work for Brutger Companies as an apprentice carpenter.  He currently worked for the Stearns County Parks Department.  He was member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

Jim is survived by his wife Sandi and daughter Jaime of St. Cloud, mother Margaret Burke of Bemidji, sisters Pat Thornsbury of Kentucky, Peggy Gall of Wisconsin, Mary Jo Ottinger of Colorado, and brothers Mike Burke of White Bear Lake and Jack Burke of Illinois, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is his father James.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
