Jerome H. "Jerry" Braun

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Jerome H. “Jerry” Braun, age 81 of St. Cloud who passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. His brother Reverend Virgil Braun, Reverend Timothy Baltes and Reverend Alfred Stangl will con-celebrate. Burial with military honors will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (TODAY) at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud and one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Jerry was born on December 2, 1925 in Lake Henry, Minnesota to John and Susan (Heinen) Braun. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Jerry was united in marriage to Helen M. Prow on July 5, 1952 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Belgrade. He was employed as a pipe fitter for Gorham-Oien Mechanical for 25 years retiring in 1988. Jerry has lived in St. Cloud all of his married life. He was a member of St. Paul’s Parish, Lake Henry American Legion and Pipe Fitters Union Local #539.

Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, playing cards and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Jerry is survived by his children, Diane (Jim) Gohman of St. Cloud, Dale (Lisa Ralph) of St. Cloud, Don of St. Cloud, Dennis (Deb) of St. Cloud, Doug (Laurie) of St. Cloud, Duane (Cheryl) of St. Cloud; nine grandchildren, Kaine, Heather, Rhyann, Sarah, Jason, Kristina, Aaron, Matthew and Trey; three great grandchildren, Kole, Jordan and Tyler; two brothers, Michael of Regal and Reverend Virgil of Eden Valley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on August 19, 2002; brothers, Alyois, Elmer, Walter and Othmar; sisters, Lucille Beir and Alvina Braun.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
