Joan C. Cook

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park for Joan C. Cook, 74 of Waite Park who passed away on Monday, October 27 at the St. Cloud Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Rev. Bernard Gruenes and Rev. George Michael will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in St. Joseph’s Parish Cemetery.

Friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Christian Women at 5:30 p.m. and the Waite Park American Legion Unit #428 Auxiliary at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Joan was born on December 12, 1933 in St. Martin, Minnesota to Peter and Susan (Thelen) Mondloch. She graduated from Cathedral High School and later married Dennis M. Cook on August 27, 1955 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish and Christian Women and the Waite Park American Legion Unit #428 Auxiliary.

Joan loved being with her family and grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafts, traveling and camping at the lake.

Joan is survived by her husband, Dennis of Waite Park; children, Michael of Kimball, Susan (Chan) Free of Waite Park, Patrick of St. Cloud, Christopher (Sandra) of Avon, Daniel (Arlene) of St. Cloud, James (Lori) of Sauk Rapids; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and brothers and sister, Howard, Cathy Derr and Oliver.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Margaret Sunderman.
