Joan was born on August 4th, 1959, in Savannah, Georgia to Robert and Marlene (Cole) Brennan, the youngest of three children. She graduated from St. Cloud Cathedral High School in 1977. Following her graduation from Cathedral High School, she completed two bachelor’s degrees from Saint Catherine University in Home Economics / Textiles and Accounting, where she met her husband, Jeff Jaye. Joan and Jeff were united in marriage at the Chapel of Saint Thomas Aquinas at the University of Saint Thomas on December 19th, 1981. Together, they raised three children. Throughout adulthood and until her passing, Joan was a dedicated certified public accountant, providing tax services for the Greater Saint Cloud area and maintained close relationships with many of her clients spanning decades. Joan was a major supporter of the East Saint Cloud region and worked alongside many different organizations throughout her lifetime.
Joan was a loving daughter, sister, wife, and mother who treasured spending time with her family. She looked forward to decorating her house for Christmas and preparing her large Christmas Tree for familial gatherings every year. In the summertime, she was passionate about maintaining her beautiful garden and demonstrating her love for flowers. She loved to spend her Birthday at the Benton County Fair with her family each year. Joan was a strong-willed, loving, and supportive mother and she will be deeply missed.
Joan is survived by her mother, Marlene Brennan; sisters, Cindy Ley and Mary Brennan; husband, Jeff Jaye; and children, Joseph (Ashley) Jaye, Lauretta (Aaron) Korkko, and Elliott Jaye.
Joan is preceded in death by her father, Major Robert Brennan (USAF).
The family of Joan would like to thank the medical teams of the St. Cloud Hospital, ER, Telemetry, the 5th floor Medical Progressive Unit and, especially, the ICU. We watched the dedicated and determined efforts of these individuals who treated Joan with so much care and concern. All of her caregivers will forever be heroes in our hearts.
Out of respect for Joan’s love of flowers and gardening, it is requested that attendees of her visitation and service wear colorful clothing.
