Joan M. Wiener

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in St Joseph for Joan Marie Wiener, age 55, of St. Joseph. Joan passed away January 10, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Burial will take place in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Friday and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Parish Prayers will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday at church.

Joan was born September 4, 1956 in St. Cloud, MN to Clarence and Irene (Klein) Mugg. She graduated from Apollo High School in 1974 and attended St. Cloud Technical College. She married Larry Wiener on April 26, 1980 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Avon. She worked at the College of St. Benedict in food service for the past 36 years.

Joan loved gardening, sewing and cooking. She was actively involved in supporting all military service personnel, especially the 34th Red Bull Division. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her husband Larry of St. Joseph, daughters Melanie (Ross) Marvel of Rice and Stacy (Paul) Posch of Rice, grandchildren Abigail and Isabelle Marvel and Delilah Posch, brothers and sisters Carol (Gary) Lauermann of Clearwater, Betty (Dave) Montag of Sartell, Rosey (Ken Lahr) Koltes of Sauk Rapids, Don (Vickie) Mugg of Avon, Darlene (Gary) Kubesh of Waite Park, Bob (Jeanette) Mugg of Melrose and Tim (Willie Marthowler) Mugg of Red Lake, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents and stepfather Lenny Gondringer.

Memorials are preferred to Breast Cancer Research.
