Joan (Mohs) Leisen

November 29, 1937 – November 25, 2011

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Joan (Mohs) Leisen, age 73, of St. Cloud, who passed away Friday, November 25 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Reverend Ken Thielman will officiate. Burial will take place in Assumption Cemetery in St. Cloud.

Relatives and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.

Joan was born on November 29, 1937 in St. Cloud to Mathew N. and Florentine (Zins) Mohs. She married Vincent J. Leisen on April 14, 1956 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. They owned and operated the Leisen Pharmacy in Browerville for over 45 years. They retired and moved to Little Birch Lake. Vincent died July 12, 2001 and Joan moved to St. Cloud.

Joan is survived by her brothers and sisters Donald (Phyllis) Mohs of Waite Park, Mary Kathleen (Joseph) Zappa of Maplewood, Marilyn (Kirk) Carson of Onalaska, WI and Albert (Coral) Mohs of St. Joseph, nephews Patrick (Sara) Mohs and Steve (Maggie) Mohs as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Deacon Vincent, and her brothers Mathew E. Mohs and Robert A. Mohs.

Joan’s family would like to thank the staff at the Sunny Lakes Unit of the Good Shepherd Community and the staff at St. Jude Hospice for the special care Joan received.

Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice.
