Joyce B. Spaulding

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Joyce B. Spaulding, age 73, of Paynesville. Joyce passed away peacefully on April 26, 2011 at home with her family. Burial will take place in the St. Louis Parish Cemetery in Paynesville.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the St. Louis Catholic Church. The St. Louis Christian Women will pray a rosary at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Joyce was born November 19, 1937 in Rice Lake Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Herman and Anna (Kelm) Schultz. She married Joe Spaulding on July 14, 1962 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Joyce enjoyed working with people. She was a nurse’s aide at the Paynesville Hospital, worked as the Social Director at the Good Samaritan, and found her calling when she became a volunteer coordinator for the R.O.S.E. Center in Paynesville. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Christian Women and the St. Louis Choir. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her husband Joe of Paynesville, children Susan (Mark) Lingl of Litchfield, Steve (Jodi) of Blaine, and Kent (Naznin) of Rochester, seven grandchildren Zach, Nich and Isaac Lingl, Andrew and Allison Spaulding and Max and Quinn Spaulding, brother Ellsworth (Kathy) Schultz of Paynesville and sister Bernice (Arnold) Busse of Paynesville.

Preceding her in death were her parents, daughter Kim (1985), brothers Melvin, Myron, LeRoy and Orville Schultz and sisters Idella Tritabaugh, Beatrice Flanders, Marella Hickman, Rosemond Schultz, Dorothy Nehring and Laverna Tysdol.
