Julie and I met in 1976. We spent the summer working together on the YCC (Youth Conservation Corp). As I remember it, there were two people from each high school on the crew. I was from North High, and of course Julie was from Shanley. Our paths would not have crossed had it not been for that summer job, nor would I have been introduced to Julie’s friends from Shanley, who also became my friends.
Julie and I became fast friends, and we were especially close during our college years. Julie was just FUN. She was upbeat, funny, warm, and up for any adventure. We took an epic camping road trip in 1980. We visited Theodore Roosevelt National Park along with Grant Teton and Yellowstone National Park.
Julie also rode out with me to Yellowstone in 1982, where I was headed for one summer of fun…and where I am still working. I dropped Julie off at the West Yellowstone bus station that June as she headed to Reno for a stint as a nanny.
Since those years we have seen each other occasionally and kept in touch through Christmas Cards. I will always treasure the wonderful memories I have of spending time with Julie, her friends, and her family.
Sending peace and love to her family and many friends.

I am grateful for all the good times Julie and I shared over the years and will cherish those memories. Her generosity, kind heart and dedication to her faith are inspiring. My heartfelt condolences to Julie’s family and friends. Gone too soon but never forgotten.
Sending hugs and prayers for Julie, and her family and friends. I had the pleasure of reconnecting with Julie last summer at a couple of group get togethers after not seeing her since high school. She looked the same and had her wonderful sense of humor and great storytelling. I feel very lucky to have reconnected and I’m really saddened by her passing. Rest in peace Julie.
I am so sorry to learn about Julie. She was so kind and a joy – my first best friend as a child. Sending love to all of her siblings and loved ones.
Very sorry for this huge loss. Sending you love.
I was just thinking of Julie earlier this week. Thinking of how much I enjoyed working with her at Metropolitan Federal in Fargo many years ago.
Julie was a mentor at the bank and I enjoyed working with her hence my memories of her popping up.
My thoughts and prayers to her family. She was such a lovely woman.
🙏🏻
Great picture of cousin. She was one of a kind and I always enjoyed visiting with her, although she did most of the talking! A wonderful human gone too soon. I will remember her fondly and am comforted to know she is at peace with the ancestors now. Love to all.
Saddened to hear the news on Julie’s passing. Her picture describes the Julie i remember. Easy going, full of laughter, and positive person. Sending hugs to all the lives that Julie had touched.
