Katherine M. "Kathie" Needham

A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, for Katherine M. Needham, age 68, of St. Cloud. Kathie passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the St. Cloud Hospital.

Kathie was born on April 10, 1941 in Exeter, New Hampshire to Edward and Meda (Stone) Sauer. Kathie graduated from Kentland High School, where she was a gifted athlete, and involved in drama, music and art. She attended DePauw University majoring in English and French, and then went on to Purdue University. She later met John T. Needham, they were married in 1972 and moved to St. Cloud. Throughout her life, Kathie worked at the St. Cloud VA Medical Center, the Social Security Administration Offices, and the State Services for the Blind. She supported her husband John in the Shriner’s Fraternity, was an avid volunteer at the library and the bookstore.

She is survived by children, Kirk (Angela) De Koker, Anne De Koker; grandchildren, Jen, Whittney, Isaac, Kalab, Abigayle, Conner; and brother, Pete Sauer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John T. Needham; and brother Edward Sauer.

Memorials are preferred.
