Kenneth C. Doucette

Memorial services celebrating the life of Kenneth C. Doucette, 84, of St. Cloud will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waite Park. Ken died on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk Rapids. Reverend Matthew Kuhn will officiate. Inurnment with military honors will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Belle Prairie.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Ken was born on September 23, 1926 in Brainerd, Minnesota to the late Lloyd and Irene (Gaboury) Doucette. He graduated from Little Falls High School, St. Cloud State University and University of Colorado. He served in the U.S. Merchant Navy from 1945-1948 and as a Military Police Officer in U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1950-1952. Ken married Arlean Baatz on October 18, 1952 in Crookston and they resided in St. Cloud. Arlean died in 1990. Ken was a teacher at Technical High School for 13 years, Apollo High School for 16 years and part time professor at the College of St. Benedict for 24 years. He retired in 1986. He married Henrietta Pietrzak on October 29, 1994 in Gilman. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, held offices with MEA, NEA and PTA. Ken also was a volunteer teacher at the Whitney Senior Center.

Ken enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling and loved to teach.

He is survived by his wife, Henrietta of St. Cloud; children, Mary Ellen (Mike) Snyder, Robert Doucette, Jeanne (Stan) Moliter; two grandchildren, Sarah and Jacob Moliter; step-children, Julie (Arlyn) Alsum, Cheryl (Mike) Hultgren, Leslie (Mike) Bredemus, Brenda (Sean) McKnight; Randy (Pam) Pietrzak; 12 step-grandchildren; and sisters, Maxine Jost, Janet (Cecil) Pogatchnik and Cleo (Jim) Brown.

Ken was preceded in death by his first wife; Arlean; and sister, Sue Kish.
