Kenneth Frank Bauer

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Waite Park, for Kenneth Frank Bauer, 93, of Shakopee and formerly Waite Park. He passed away Tuesday, December 6, at St. Gertrude Health Care Center, Shakopee. Rev. Timothy Gapinski will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Kenneth was born May 11, 1929 to Mathias and Caroline (Ertl) Bauer in Saint Cloud. He married his wife Rose Mechavich in June, 1951 and together they were blessed with two daughters, Diane and Debra. Rose passed away in February, 2014, Debra in July, 2016.
Following his discharge from the Army, Kenneth worked for Granite Supply Co, Saint Cloud, for over 50 years, delivering supplies to area granite artists. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was known for raising champion pigeons. Kenneth would enter his pigeons in area fairs and typically came home with a flock of first and second place ribbons and trophies. He loved to follow his daughter’s horse shows and loved the animals they raised.
He is survived by his daughter, Diane Bauer, of Lexington, KY; brother, Lloyd (Sandy) Bauer, of Sartell and sister, Sylvia Babcock of Florida.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, Debra; sisters Betty Bauer and Rita Verkinnes and brothers, Robert and Earl Bauer.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials go to their church, St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Waite Park.
