Leo A. Feneis

May 20, 1920 – June 24, 2006

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Leo A. Feneis, age 86, of Sartell will be at 11 am on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud.  Leo died on June 24, 2006 while on a fishing trip in Canada.  The Rev. Gregory Lieser will officiate.  Private inurnment will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN with full military honors.  

Friends may call between 4-9 pm on Tuesday (TODAY) at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10 am on Wednesday at St. Peter’s church.  St. Peter’s parish prayers will be at 7 pm tonight at the funeral home in St. Cloud.  

Leo was born on May 20, 1920 in Rockville Township, Stearns County, MN to Joseph A. and Hedwig (Kiess) Feneis.  He served in the US Army during WW II.  He married Leonilla “Mutz” Guggenberger on June 16, 1945 in Cold Spring, MN.  He was a plumber prior to establishing and operating Feneis Plumbing and Heating from 1969 – 1987 when he retired.   He was a charter member of St. Peter’s parish, past president of the Plumbers Local Union 308, member of Knights of Columbus Council 5548, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 622, Waite Park American Legion Post 428 and VFW Post 428.

Survivors include his wife Leonilla, children:  Dan (Pat) of Sartell, Ralph (Jean Ann) of Middleburg, VA, Tom (Shirlee) of Maple Grove, Mike (Judy) of Sartell, Steve (Judy) of Sartell, Kevin (Lois) of Sartell, Mary (Steve) Hoover of Chandler, AZ;  12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters:  Wendelin (Virginia) of St. Cloud, Joseph (Virginia) of St. Cloud, Evelyn Klein of Cold Spring, LuVerne (Jerome) Scheeler of Kimball, and Donna Mae (Elmer) Eisenschenk of Cold Spring.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son Leo, Jr, sisters Hildegard Bechtold, Loretta Jungels, Mary Ann Marx and Hedwig Feneis.

Memorials are preferred to St. Peters parish.
