Loretta J. Flynn

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Loretta J. Flynn, 97, of St. Cloud will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Loretta passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House with family by her side. Reverend Alan Wielinski will officiate. Entombment will be in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. The Daughters of Isabella will pray at 4:00 p.m. and parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Loretta was born on November 24, 1913 in Foxholm, North Dakota to the late Gerhard and Appolonia (Schoenborn) Dingmann. She married John E. Flynn on July 7, 1942 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in St. Martin. She lived in St. Paul until 1958 when she moved to St. Cloud. Loretta was employed by Brown and Bigelow and later by Lantz Optical. She was a member of St. Paul’s Parish and Christian Women and the Daughters of Isabella.

She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Bailen of Falcon Heights; sisters-in-law, Betty Host, Mildred Dingman and Ursula “Oakie” Goebel; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John on February 27, 1990; brothers, Edmund, Joseph, Leander, Carl and Clarence; and sisters, Eleanor Maanum, Olivia Schmidt and Katherine Nierenhausen.
