Lorraine Adams

April 25, 1929 – March 3, 2012

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville for Lorraine Adams, age 82, of Paynesville. Lorraine passed away March 3, 2012 at her home in Paynesville. Reverend Richard Koehn will officiate. Burial will take place in the Paynesville Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville and one hour prior to services at the Grace United Methodist Church on Wednesday.

Lorraine was born April 25, 1929 in rural Paynesville to William and Lilly (Lang) Schultz. She attended and graduated from Paynesville High School in 1947. On August 24, 1949 she married Philip Adams at the First Evangelical United Brethren Church in Paynesville. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist and Naomi’s Circle. She taught Sunday School for many years.  She also worked as a bookkeeper for Farmers Union Co-op. She actively volunteered for the Paynesville Senior center, offering to give rides to those who needed one. She is a past member of the Harmonica Band in Paynesville and served locally as an election judge. She was an avid bicycle rider and rode most of the Minnesota and Wisconsin State trails. She enjoyed knitting and would make sweaters and afghans for family and friends. She enjoyed watching the Twins and various football teams and took great pride in being the 2011 Football Contest overall winner with 148 correct picks for the Paynesville Press.

Lorraine is survived by her children Bev (Bryan) Olsen of Cleveland, MN, and Terri Bunker of Prairie Lea, TX, and David (Diane) Adams of Blanchard, OK, 8 grandchildren Andy, Joey, Amber, Tylinn, Leah, Micky, Jaime and Jacob; 20 great grandchildren, and sister Jeanette Mayer of Paynesville, sister-in-law Mae Amundson of Cokato, MN as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friend, exercise and biking partner LouAnn Fahlberg.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Philip (1993), son Timothy (1987), two great grandchildren Jaime Philip Bunker and Lilly Marie Bunker, and her brother Allen Schultz.
