Lucille M. "Toppy" Huls

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2013 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in St. Wendel for Lucille M. “Toppy” Huls, age 86 of St. Wendel who passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Reverend Gregory Mastey will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and after 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the church in St. Wendel. The Christian Women will pray at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Arrangements were made by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.
Lucille was born on October 24, 1926 in St. Wendel Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to John and Rose (Murphy) Yurczyk. She married Bernard J. Huls on October 30, 1944 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Cloud. The couple farmed in St. Wendel since 1954 and moved to Holdingford in 1989. Lucille was a member of Holdingford American Legion Post #211 Auxiliary, St. Columbkille Parish and Christian Women.
Toppy was very patriotic, she enjoyed watching the Minnesota twins, playing cards and socializing. She especially loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lucille is survived by her children, Thomas of St. Wendel, Jane (Jack) Opatz of St. Wendel, Daniel (Charolette) of Holdingford, Bernard (Rosie) of St. Joseph, Mary Lou (George) Fiedler of St. Stephen, John (Ruth Djonne) of St. Wendel, and Lori (Joe) Westbrock of Shoreview; 18 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard in 1996; eight infant children and brother, Francis.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
