Marcella A. Martini

January 21, 1913 – July 8, 2006

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Marcella A. Martini age 93 of St. Cloud will be on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral Lower Church in St. Cloud. Reverend Steven Binsfeld will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.  Marcella passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. The Daughters of Isabella will pray at 4:00 p.m. followed by parish prayers and St. Anne’s Christian Women at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Marcella was born on January 21, 1913 in St. Joseph, Minnesota to Anton and Mary (Kosel) Notsch. She married Edmund Martini on April 24, 1934 in St. Cloud. Marcella lived in St. Cloud most of her married life. She was employed as a housekeeper by the Diocese of St. Cloud for 30 years serving at St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Anthony’s and Sacred Heart parishes. Marcella was also employed by Fingerhut for about ten years. She was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Parish and a member of St. Anne’s Christian Women and Daughters of Isabella.

Marcella will be remembered for her excellent cooking, her love of knitting and travel and never forgetting a birthday or anniversary.

Marcella is survived by her daughters, Dolores  “Dee” (Bill) Edelbrock of St. Cloud, Sr. Galen “Patricia” Martini, OSB of St. Joseph and Ramona Moeller of St. Cloud; son-in-law, Edward Moeller of St. Augusta; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters and brothers, Marie Hagen of Rockville, Evelyn Theisen of St. Cloud, Donald of St. Cloud and Urban of Avon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edmund on July 4, 1973, brothers and sisters, Anton, Joseph, Olivia Watry, Fred, Edwin, William, Esther Pfannenstein, Herman and Leona Theisen.

Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the Sisters of St. Benedict and the Poor Clares.
