Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud for Margaret M. Fandel, age 96, of St. Cloud who passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Legends of Heritage Place in Sartell. Reverend Gerald Dalseth will officiate. Entombment will take place in Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.
Margaret was born on December 15, 1919 in Lyndon Township, Stearns County to Bernard and Margaret (Leisch) Gohmann. She married Donald Fandel on October 28, 1941 at St. Mary’s Help of Christians Catholic Church in St. Augusta. She was employed at Stearns Manufacturing for over 25 years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of Catholic United Financial and St. Margaret and St. Joseph Society.
She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling with her husband. Margaret especially loved all the time spent with her family.
Margaret is survived by her son Wayne (Joyce) Fandel of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Chris (Jodi Lentz) Fandel of St. Cloud and Brian (Lynn) Fandel of Sartell; great-grandchildren, Brent Fandel, Amber (Casey) Waye, Payton Fandel, and Kendall Fandel; great great-grandchildren, Hailey Rose (Otto) Fandel, Talon Waye, Brayden Waye and Greyson Waye; sisters and brother, Evelyn Kraus of Waite Park, Alice Anderson of Sauk Rapids, and Bernard Gohmann of Clearwater; step-sister, Marcella Virdan of St. Cloud; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald in 1999; and sisters and brothers, Irene Anderson, Helen Kunkel, John, Walter, Norbert “Butch”, Florentine Storms, Sylvester, and George; and step-sister Alvina Kirchner.
