Margurette Schoneman

March 23, 1919 – March 3, 2008

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville for Margurette Schoneman, age 88, of Grove City, who passed away Monday, March 3, 2008 at the Hilltop Care Center in Watkins. Reverend Ric Koehn will officiate. A time to gather with family and friends will be held on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at the church.

Margurette was born March 23, 1919 to Albert and Petra Troseth of Lake Park, MN where she also grew up and went to school. She married Lyle Schoneman on April 24, 1945 at the Tracy Lutheran parsonage in Tracy. They lived on Lyle’s family farm in Cottonwood County, northeast of Jeffers until the fall of 1956 when they moved, with their small children, to a farm in Union Grove Township, north of Grove City. Marge, as she was known by her friends, is fondly remembered for her keen wit and her incredible musical abilities. She loved to laugh, dance, cook, and entertain family and friends; her gardens and her handcrafts were her passions. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville, its Naomi Circle and the Union Grove SWAPS group.

In addition to her husband Lyle, she is survived by her three children: Michael (Pat) of Spicer, Bonnie of Sandstone and JoAn (Ernie) Miller of Grove City; two granddaughters; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She has been warmly welcomed to her heavenly home by her father, mother, stepfather, five brothers and two sisters.
