Marie M. Schneider

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Marie M. Schneider, age 77, of St. Joseph, who passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2011 surrounded by her family. Reverend Joseph Feders, OSB, will officiate. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 12:00 noon on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Marie was born on April 7, 1933 in Greenwald, Minnesota to Bernard and Rose (Kortenbusch) Wenker. She married Edmund H. Schneider on May 4, 1954 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Greenwald and they farmed in the Meire Grove area before moving to St. Joseph. She worked for many years for the College of St. Benedict. Marie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, the St. Joseph’s Parish Quilters and Catholic United Financial.

Marie enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking and gardening (particularly her flowers). She especially treasured time spent with all of her family.

Marie is survived by her husband, Edmund of St. Joseph; children, Linda (Dave) Hartung of Holdingford, Jeron Schneider (fiancée Cheri Woehler) of St. Cloud, Cindy Schneider of Albertville, Brenda (Tim) Olinger of St. Cloud, Neil Schneider of St. Joseph, and Shelly (Tim) Muske of St. Joseph; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Raymond (Lorraine) Wenker, Clarence (Mary Ann) Wenker, Sylvia Schulzetenberg, Edna (Melvin) Worms, Florentine (Ken) Hammer, Adeline (Stan) Schaefer, and Larry (Radi) Wenker; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter; grandson, Jason Hartung; and brothers, Herbert, Eddie, and Adolph Wenker; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Wenker, and Tillie Wenker; and brother-in-law Henry Schulzetenberg.
