Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Marilyn O. Simon, 71, of St. Cloud will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 1, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Marilyn passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 after a 2 year battle with cancer at Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud. Reverend Thomas Knoblach will officiate. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, St. Cloud.
Family and friends may call between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Marilyn was born on May 26, 1941 in St. Joseph Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Herman and Evelyn (Theisen) Notsch. She married Francis Simon on September 23, 1959 at St. James Catholic Church in Jacobs Prairie. She lived most of her married life in St. Cloud and was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish. Marilyn was a Daycare provider for 40 plus years including her six grandchildren.
She enjoyed scrapbooking, crafts, gardening, puzzles, collecting dolls and country music.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Chuck (Cheryl), Tim, Julie (Steve) Simonson all of St. Cloud; grandchildren, Jenny (Dan) Heiser, Andy (Ashley Mattson) and Nick (Missy) Simon, Hunter, Haley and Tanner Simonson; great grandson, Carter Heiser; mother, Evelyn Notsch of Albany; brothers and sister, Ronnie (Evie) of St. Cloud, Loren (Yvonne) of St. Joseph, Judy (Gary) Meyer of Freeport, Wayne (Lois) of Little Falls, Rick (Laurie) of Chokio, Glenn “Bud” (Mary Kay) of Phoenix, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 1990; and father, Herman in 2004.
