I did not see Mark very often as I haved lived out of state for many years (38+) after growing up in St Joe. Whenever I came back to St Joe to visit family and friends, I would see Mark at the LaPlayette or church. He was always friendly and courteous and remembered our family. He was a shining example of what we all should be. St Joe will definitely miss him. Our most sincere sympathies to Peg and his family.
Peggy and family … We are so sorry to hear of Mark’s passing. Linda and I both knew Mark from our years of living in St Joe especially our times in the Jaycees when we built the Millstrearm ballpark.
Mark was a very special individual. We were prevliged to be able to count him as a friend. Even though we didn’t get to see him as often in recent years it was always special to see Mark and he always remembered us as well.
Our condolences to you. Linda and I both knew your sister Ann and your brother Dan too from our days at Fingerhut. Your brother Jim was a high School classmate of mine too.
We are sorry for your loss and you will be in our prayers.

Mark was a fun guy and agreat spirit. We had good times growing up together at the Prep. I always figured he had an advantage being a “local”. It’s sad that he’s gone.
Peggy–I’m so sorry to hear about Mark. You’re a strong person and just try to remember that everything happens for a reason–even though we may not be able to understand the reasons. You’ll be in my prayers.

I first met Mark in 1986 in Memphis TN when the Gophers were playing in the Liberty Bowl. Had occasion to see Mark many times since and discuss the woes of the Gophers. He was a real asset to the St Joe community and may the Good Lord welcome him in heaven.

Mark was such a sparkler! He always had a broad smile and a big bear hug ready for his old pals from St. Ben’s High School. It’s no coincidence he left us on St. Nicholas Day – Mark was always a generous, kind man!
We send to the Zimmer family and La Playette Staff our deepest sympathy on losing a great man like Mark. He definately left a legacy behind and will never be forgotten. It was a true pleasure knowing Mark through the years….
I worked for Mark at the LaPlayette for over 13 years. He was by far the most remarkable and best boss I have ever had! He will be missed greatly by everyone! Lets all raise our glass and “Lets have one for Mark”!
