Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Martha M. Knafla, age 100, of Waite Park will be at 11 am on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at St Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud. Martha died on Friday, August 18, 2006 at Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park. The Rev. Timothy Wenzel will officiate. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery, Sauk Rapids, MN.

Friends may call after 10 am on Tuesday at St. Anthony’s church. Arrangements are with the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud, MN.

Martha was born on March 11, 1906 in Duelm, MN to Philipp and Margaret (Jurek) Rau. She married Charles Knafla on Feb. 24, 1927 in Popple Creek, MN. She lived in St. Cloud most of her married life where she was a member of St. Anthony’s parish, Christian Women, and St. Theresa’s Mission Group. She was also a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program volunteering her time at the Sterling Park Health Care Center in Waite Park.

Survivors include her children: Arthur of Robbinsdale, Mary Lou Speckman (Dr. M.L. Speckman) of Litchfield, Darlene Konrad (Gerald) of Pine River; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers: Leo, Edward, William, Norbert and Donald Rau, sisters: Mabel Rubink, Helen Dietrich, and Lillian Brackebusch.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968, infant son Ronald, 5 brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
