Mary M. Eveslage

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Mary M. Eveslage, age 98 of St. Cloud who passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at her home. Reverend Anthony Oelrich will officiate. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, St. Cloud.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud and after 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home in St. Cloud.

Mary was born August 4, 1915 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Joseph and Mary (Nierengarten) Schwinghammer. She married Raymond F. Eveslage on September 17, 1946 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud. Mary lived in St. Cloud all of her married life. She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Christian Women, Daughters of Isabella, St. Marcellus, St. Monica and St. Theresa Mission Groups, Secular Franciscan Order and St. Augustine’s Parish.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary enjoyed playing cards and fishing. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ray; children, Jane (Dale) Reuter of Sauk Rapids, Annette (Patrick) O’Neil of St. Cloud, Rita Scheeler of Pierz, Mary Jo Opatz of Avon and Mark (Janelle) of Cold Spring; son-in-law, Eugene Kolbinger of Becker; 22 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; and brother, Joseph (Louise) of Luxemburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Joan Kolbinger; brothers, Walter, Peter, Gilbert, Willard and Reverend Claude; sisters, Dorothy Schwinghammer and Bernice Henkemeyer; sons-in-law, Michael Scheeler and Cletus Opatz.
