Mathew J. Huls

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 am on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church in St. Wendel for Mathew J. Huls, age 81, of St. Wendel who died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, March 19, 2007. Reverend Mark Stang will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call between 4-9 pm on Wednesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph, MN. St. Columbkille parish prayers will be at 5 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mathew was born on May 2, 1925 in St. Wendel, MN to William and Gertrude (Omann) Huls. He married Dolores Ann Warzecka on June 4, 1947 in St. Wendel. He farmed in the St. Wendel area most of his life and also worked at the St. Cloud Hospital for 19 years. He was a member of St. Columbkille parish. Mathew will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved to garden, fish and play cards.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Dolores, children: Mike (Janet), Jerry (Judy), Cheryl (Ev) Bovy, Kevin (Janet) and Jenny (Dean) Thielen all of St. Wendel, Susy (Tom) Reding of St. Stephen, Debbie (Mike) Juntunen of Rice, Karen (Charlie) Gertken of Albany, Sally Huls of St. Cloud; 24 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters: Berdine Barrett of St. Wendel and Mary Lehman of South St. Paul.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
