Matt, I just wanted to say how thankful I am for your guidance and friendship since your passing. You have given me such gifts and strength. I can’t wait to drink a glass of wine with you and Rach when we all meet up again. I’ll see you in Napa.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to Matt’s wife and family! My children had a lot of respect for Matt and such a positive experience with junior golf because of Matt – he truly had a gift! We were lucky to have known such a great guy! He will be sadly missed by all. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. The Beecher Family
Matt was a terrfic young man passionate about his family, friends and career. He will be missed but not forgotten leaving a void in all of our hearts. “Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord.”
Rachel, Roxanne, Scott and family, Myself and my family extend our deepest sympathy to you all. What a loss, such a great human being. It’s with great love and respect that Matt was, and still is, a part of my family. My sister Kathryn, had a great Grandson. Love and prayers to you all. Janet and family. God Bless
Matt headed up the DMG Jr. Golf program for the last several years. The program thrived under Matt’s leadership, as did our children. Matt Story: Matt personally met Bill as he was coming of the course one summer evening from a Junior Golf event with a very large sign that read “Congratulations Hole in One #3 North”. As usual, Matt found out about the hole in one that had just occured and used it as an opportunity to make a 14 year old boy feel extra special. This is just one of numerous special memories we have of Matt.
Hearing of Matt’s passing makes our family sad, but we smile when we think of how well Matt lived his life. Matt did exactly what he loved, and loved us all in the process! Matt taught young and old alike so much just by loving life every day.
Well done Matt! Thank you for the wonderful memories, We will always love you, as you loved us. May God bless your family during this most difficult time. They will be in our thoughts and prayers.
The Fletchers

Thank you for helping me and encouraging me to be a better golfer and a better person. Matt you were an outstanding person as well as a great golfer. You were more than a golf instructor to me you were a mentor and a great friend. Matt I am going to miss you. Jack Walsh
Our deepest sympathies to the family. May it help you to know that the hearts of others are deeply touched by your loss. Even though our hearts ache, we can find comfort in the God of all comfort whose is near to those with a broken heart.
( Psalms 34:18)
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Rachel, and your family. Matt was a dear friend to my brother, Nate, and our family. As we have reflected this week and realize how life can change in an instant, we pray you find comfort in the memories, strength in God’s love and peace over the coming weeks and months.
Dear Matt,
Thanks for being the best golf teacher I have ever had. You always made me feel like I was great even if I didn’t have a great shot. Remeber me telling you about when I was going to try out for the competition dance team? You told me to not worry about it, stay focused and I would do great, just like with golf. You were a good friend Matt. Remember when you, me, Taylor and AJ went out golfing for our lesson, and how we had so much fun. You stole our pretzels! 🙂 I am sorry that you are not here to be with us anymore. I am going to miss how you always said “Theeeeeere’s Graaaaacie!” When my mom and dad told me what happened, I didn’t want to believe them, and then at school, I talked to Parker Cheney and he couldn’t beleive it either. We were both sad. You were a great friend and teacher to a lot of kids. I promise you, and the lessons you gave me will be part of me forever. I am sorry for your wife and the rest of your family, and hopefully someday my heart will feel better. We are all going to miss you. I am going to miss you. Thank you Matt!
Matt has always been such a gentleman around all who he either worked or socialized with. The junior golf program at DMGCC had a remarkable year which is attributed to Matt’s sense of humor and patience with kids. Our deepest sympothy to his family.

It is with a very heavy heart and many tears that I write this message.
There are no words…
Matt, you are so dearly missed and you are SIMPLY THE BEST. You are a “once in a lifetime” human being. Very few people get the opportunity to know someone like you and I’m so grateful for having had that chance. You inspired me in so many ways. Your contagious smile, generous heart and kind spirit will live on in our memories and you will never be forgotten. You had unquestionable character and integrity and the impact you had on all of us is immeasurable. You have been an example to everyone as to the type of character and attitude we should emulate. You had a rare gift of making everyone feel special. Whether you kjnew someone a day or a year, you made them feel like they had been your friend for a lifetime. I’d like to think that I’m a better person because of you and it was a great privilege to have known you. Rachel, the Orth family, and friends, my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace, Matt.
Rachel, my thoughts, prayers, and hugs are with you during this time and my condolences to the Orth family.
Matt Orth…an awesome young man with an amazing personality and genuine smile. His kindness and sincerity will be greatly missed. Now that Matt is in God’s arms may God be as good to him as he was to us. During this time of inexplicable loss may Matt’s family find comfort in the memories he created with you. You all have our deepest sympathies.
It was always a great pleasure to see Matt at our Iowa PGA events. His fun personality and outgoing demeanor made him popular among our members. It was obvious that Matt had a very bright future in the golf business or whatever he wanted to pursue. A great guy who was fun to be around. Our thoughts and prayers are with Rachel and the entire Orth family during this difficult time. God bless.
Matt and Travis grew up right behind us and Todd and I had the pleasure of car pooling with them on the way to school every day. When I took my job at Wapicada Golf Course in high school, I would see Matt there all of the time. You were so talented at the sport that you loved. Your smile could light up a room and you had such a big, kind heart. My thoughts and prayers are with your friends and family. You will be dearly missed Matt.
The best example I have of the person Matt was occurred at a mutual friend’s wedding a few years back. My girlfiend accompianied me and knew very few people yet I couldn’t find her for an extended period of time. When I finally did, she was sitting at a table with Matt engaged in a humerous coversation (evidenced by the color of her face). They had never met before yet Matt made her feel so comfortable, so included, and special. His ability to make people laugh and simply enjoy themselves in any situation is a quality I’ll never forget. I was lucky enough to meet him my first night on campus at LU and feel very priveledged to have known him for the time I did. Thoughts and prayers to Rachel and his family during this time of mourning. When I stand on the first tee tomorrow staring down the fairway I’ll think of you man. Rest in peace…
It will not be the same to walk through the pro shop without seeing Matt. He was a great young man who will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers to Matt’s family.
Matt, every time I interacted with you at Lawrence resulted in a good time for all. You are a great man and I am deeply saddened this news. Enjoy the other side until the rest of us get there.
I read every single posting on here and I am amazed at all of the men-tions of “contagious”, “infectious”.
These are strong and descriptive words and they both do fit Matt so well. I am the newest members of the part-time staff as a starter. Matt was a tremendous trainer. I have been in the golf business for over 35 years…both selling to golf shops and working in various pro shops. Almost everyone has mentioned that Matt relayed more than just golf lessons to their sons and daughters…but also taught them about life. I want to take it to another level. I have seen hundreds of Junior Golf programs around the Midwest and Florida while calling on golf shops. I have NEVER seen such and outstanding junior golf program like Matt directed at DMGCC. There are not enough words to explain what a great golf teacher he was and what a great teacher of life he was. He was an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. I only knew Matt for about 4 months this summer and I will never forget his “contagious” and “infectious” smile. Condolences go out to Rachel and the entire Orth family and friends. There’s so much more I could write…but there’s not enough space. Rest in peace my friend.
Matt and I met while in highschool and I have such fond memories of him. He was incredibly kind, caring and sweet. My thoughts and prayers are with Rachel, his family and his friends.
Whenever anyone saw Matt, he had a smile on his face and would always be there to help. It’s hard to believe he is not with us here on earth and we will miss him very much. God bless Matt and his family. Our Prayers and thoughts are with you.
My family and I are deeply saddened at the news of Matt’s passing at so young an age. I pray that God comforts Rachel, his parents, his brother and sister, and all of his family and friends. I know the entire hockey community in Des Moines mourns your loss.
Three years ago on a beautiful fall day Matt Orth walked into all our lives when he came to Des Moines Golf and inquired about working in our golf shop. In a matter of minutes there was a connection we alll felt with Matt and we quickly added him to our staff. What a great decision! Matt was patient, caring, a hard worker and when it came to junior golf he was out of this world good. He touched so many of their lives in such a positive fashion. I always knew when Matt was working in the golf shop because of the junior golfers (my son’s included) just hanging around the counter giving Matt a hard time, laughing and having fun. Well the three years has gone to quickly and we never dreamed we would say goodbye like this. Rest in peace Matt, I have been blessed to know you.
Rachel and entire Orth family,
Matt had deeply touched my and many others hearts. He changed my life and taught me not only the basics of golf but what it meant to never give up and always keep pushing yourself and motivating others. He truly will always be one of the greatest people I have ever had the priviledge of getting to know. He also taught me that golf could be fun and that I can always improve. I deeply miss him and you are forever in my prayers. God bless you and everyone else who knew the life changing Matt Orth. We will forever miss you Matt.
Matt was a treasure, and we were blessed to have him in our lives. Our kids, Elle (12) and Will (9) loved him because he was a good teacher and fun to be around, while Chris and I loved him because he not only helped our kids learn to be better golfers, but more importantly he taught our kids to be better people. One night at a junior event Elle was on the second hole, frustrated to the point of tears, asking to quit. Luckily Matt was whizzing by on a gatorade delivery- in a matter of seconds the tears were gone, she actually smiled and was ready to keep playing. I don’t know what Matt said, but it is just one of the many examples of how he worked magic with the junior golfers. Thanks Matt, we will miss you!
Rachel, my heart was broken to hear about your loss. I never met your husband, but I can see by what everyone has written what a wonderful person he was. I cannot imagine what you are going through, but know that I am thinking of you and praying for you.
Scott and RoxAnne,
Brayden and I would like to extend our sincere sympathy in the loss of your beloved son.
Brayden and I recently suffered the tragic loss of Brayden’s 19 year old cousin, Though our grief at the loss will be forever, we are able to cope through the love and support we received from family and friends. Please reach out to your family and friends as I know they will be there in your time of need. We may be separated by thousands of miles but Brayden and I are a short phone call away if you need anything at all, God Bless and stay strong.
Brad
Matt was one of the most genuine and caring people I’ve met. Always had time to stop and talk and engage in fun conversations no matter how busy he really was. Thank you God for sharing him with us all.
Matt was a great friend and an even better mentor. He always knew how to put a smile on anyones face no matter the situation and brighten the day. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wife and family. You will be greatly missed my friend.
Matt was one of the funnest people I have been around. I was over 10 years older then him when he and his dad Scott taught me how to (rip lips) bass fish. And helped teach me how to golf. Even as a teenager he was kind, careing, and always had a joke or a smile on his face. My heart goes out to Rachel, Scott, RoxAnne, Travis and the entire orth and Lentner Family.
Matt was one of our best PGA Members in the Section and he will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
I met Matt last year when I was new to Des Moines and knew hardly anyone but my wife’s new colleagues. Matt made me feel welcome and comfortable; he was always ready with a smile and a joke and a story. He made my life better. I don’t know if there’s a higher compliment I can pay a person. You will be missed, Matt.
Rachel, Scott, RoxAnne, Travis and Jenny, You all know what a powerful influence Matt was in your lives. As you read these numerous sentiments, it becomes obvious that Matt left a huge impact on many of ours. His infectious smile, genuine caring and concern are just one facet of this truly wonderful young man. Cole really learned a lot from Matt during his years playing Junior Golf. He thought of Matt as a friend. You all should feel the warmth and love coming from the Des Moines area, as Matt was truly loved by all. May God grant you all his peace.
I had the pleasure of knowing Matt through mutual friends and although we only got to meet up a couple times a year I always looked forward to spending time together. He had an infectious personality and was just a great person. Matt, you will be greatly missed. My condolences to both Rachel and the Orth family.
I had the pleasure of working with Matt. He loved life. He loved a good golf match, spending time with his wife, fishing trips with the boys and being a chef in the kitchen. He could do it all. I am honored to call him my friend.
We are truely so sorry of this loss of Matt. He was an unbelievable positive influence on our children, especially Jack, 13 years old, and our daughter Allison, 11 years old. The were both members of his Jr Golf group that recieved so much positive motivation and excellent instruction. it didnt matter whether they were celebrating a low score or a not so good score, Matt was always smiling and so positive..His positive attutude, always made them want to be there and get better.. or at least have fun..To Rachel and Matt’s family, we are so sorry for your loss. thank you for sharing him this past 3 summers.. he made a life long impression on us..One the kids, and us, will never forget.. He will always be in our memories…..His memory is a blessing..Ohringer family
Matt is one of the few people at the age of 28 that had his life priorities in check. He didn’t take anything for granted and always went out of his way to make those around him feel loved and appreciated. My deepest condolensces for Rachel, as you were the heartbeat of Matt’s every day. I am so happy to have had Matt in my life. He will be greatly missed.
Our sincerest condolences to the friends and family of Matt. He was an outstanding person that enjoyed sharing his wisdom and personality with all. Always a pleasant greeter and a willingness to engage. Bless all.
Our son Henry took a few lessons this spring with Matt….we are so sad for your tremendous loss. May your warm memories of Matt comfort you always.
Rachel,
We are so very sorry for your loss. Our hearts go out to you.
Duane & Alice Boeckers (Kim’s parents)
We were new members to the club this spring and Matt was one of the first people that we got to meet through the junior golf program. My children enjoyed Matt so much. He knew the kids names, always greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. He made such a positve effect on both my kids as well as all the kids in the program. He will be greatly missed. Our sympathies to Rachel, Patch and Parca and the entire family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Abbie, Doug, Allison and Nick Keller
Matt was a great addition to our Club and he will be tremedously missed by all who knew him
We absolutely loved Matt! He always had a smile and really enjoyed working with the junior golfers. Taylor and Morgan will always remember you as their “Chetzel”. (the shared cheetos and pretzels were always a hit!) The inspiration and guidance you provided to our girls was so valuable. They learned more than just how to hit a good golf shot..they learned how to work through tough situations. They will draw on all of those lessons now in this difficult loss. Our hearts are truely broken and we will miss your smile, sense of humor and all things “Matt”. Our thoughts and prayers are with your lovely wife, Rachel, and all of your family and friends during this difficult time. Blessings and Peace.
Matt was such an outstanding person and he has had a tremendous and positive impact on my sons’ (Connor and Cade) lives through the junior golf program. Matt is someone that Connor really respected and loved and Matt spent a lot of time having fun with the kids and giving them guidance on their golf game and life. He always greeted everyone with a smile and was genuinely a good man. Our sympathies go out to Rachel and his entire family at this very sudden and tragic loss. May God’s blessings and your memories of Matt comfort you during this very difficult time.
With deep sympathy, Chris, Peggy, Connor, Carlie and Cade Littlefield
Scott & RoxAnne, I am deeply sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Matt spent some time at our house in high school with our daughter, Erin, and he was always a great young man.
Rachel, I never met you, but you are in my prayers as well. My condolences to you.
I worked with Matt for a few years at DMGCC and his smile and encouraging attitude was one reason I enjoyed working with him. He helped me learn how to treat others and helped me become more personable. My prayers go to Rachel, his family and also his family at DMG I always felt we were a family there and I know the world lost a great man! RIP Matt
Matt has made such a lasting impact on me personally with his friendship, camaraderie, and humor. His impact on my Family is immeasurable, the lessons on Golf were minor compared to Matt’s lessons on how to act in life. Truly the Lessons on life came so easy for him that the kids never knew it happened, but us parents could always see it. From Matt’s short time on this earth he has made a dramatic difference in my children’s lives and the lives of hundreds of kids for the better. I know I speak for others when I say with confidence, Matt was, and is the example of what we would all like to strive to be as a person.
May time heal the pain in all those closest to Matt and in time bring the joyful memories of Matt we all miss today.
The Porter Family
“Most people come into our lives and quickly leave. It is the special few that come in and leave a footprint in our hearts. and we are forever changed.”
As a long time member of DMGCC, it has been my privilege to know many of the pros and assistant pros. Matt was a great young man and he will be sorely missed. My condolences go out to all of his family and friends
The picture of Matt in the obituary is perfect, it’s just how I’ll always remember him — a contagious smile, a glint in his eye, and full of life.
It’s hard to believe that I talked to him just this past Sunday, and suddenly he is no longer with us – we are all the poorer for it.
My grandmother always told me that when we are crying on earth for our loss of a person like Matt, the saints in heaven are overjoyed for their gain. I’m sure they’re ecstatic today now that Matt is with them.
Matt was one of the first golf pros we met when we first joined DMG and it is very sad to hear of his loss. Our prayers go out to the Orth family and all who were affected by this. Matt was an amazing person and golfer and he will be greatly missed by the family of DMG.
Matt was one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. His position at DMG will never be replaceable. He touched everyone he knew with his kindness. He will never be forgotten. My prayers go out to him and his family.
Matt Orth has been my favorite pro sense I met him he has changed my life forever. I will never forget him. All of my prayers are to him and his family.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Rachel, Matt’s family and friends, and Des Moines golf family. Matt will greatly be missed and we will never forgot his smile. May God be close to you all in your time of need and comfort.
I’m glad i got to know Matt he taught me, so much he was my favorite pro at DMGCC I will never forget him and all that he has taught me over the years. My prayers are with him and his family.
Our prayers are with your family. We are so very grateful that our boys had the privilege of knowing Matt. We often joked that we needed to send him a Thank You card at the end of each summer for raising them, as we would drop them off in the morning for junior golf and may not see them again until dark. They talked endlessly about him and the things he taught them. His passing has left a huge hole for us at DMGCC and we will miss him very much.
I’m sorry Matt. I wish all the best for the family. He was one of the most genuine guys you could ever meet, and I feel privileged to have known him. He was an amazing guide and will be missed greatly.
Our hearts and prayers are with you.
Matt was an extraordinary man that showed his passion through kindness, hard work, and a huge heart. He brought an element of fun and integrity to the junior golf program. My children and our family are bless to have had him as part of our lives. May you find strength in the arms of God at this most difficult time.
I only met Matt a few times, but I was always impressed with his positive attitude and kind nature. I feel fortunate to have met him.
My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, his family and his friends at DMGCC.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you Rachel, the Orth family and the Des Moines Golf familiy. Matt was a very special person that touched our hearts. We will truly miss him.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He recues those whose spirits are crushed.” Psalm 34:18
Rachel, RoxAnne,Scott and family, this is a terrible loss for you, Matt’s friends and co workers.
Matt posessed the unique quality of making everyone feel comfortable when he greeted them. You could’nt help but smile when visiting with him, he was always upbeat.! He made things easy to understand at the range be it golf swing assistance or equipment purchase. I will miss him for the person he is and will remember him always.
More of us should show the interest and passion for others and life that he did.
May God Bless Matt and give you peace.
Bob Brooks
Robert (Mouse) Braun, Lawrence class of 2006, and Matt are friends. They skiied together, partied, and enjoyed life together. Matt’s contagious smile, his kindness and his great sense of humor were among the highlights of my trips to campus. He and Rachel are responsible for Mouse and Shannon meeting, and eventually building a life together. I never worried when Mouse said “I’m with Orth” because both men only made each other better. Matt Orth is a good man. I will think of him often. His family and friends can be proud of him. I can only try to imagine your loss. I know I will miss him.
Matt taught me how to play golf. He was very nice to me.He was such a positive person! I just saw him Sunday. I will always remember him.
We didn’t know Matt well, but we will miss his wonderful smile and his help in the pro shop. We know too well the pain his family is going through and offer our prayers and deep sympathy to his family and wife as they go through these painfilled days and months. God bless all of you.
I loved how he taught our son Joshua golf. I enjoyed every lesson he had with Joshua. He would have made a great Dad and Father. The patience he had with each and every one of them. What a joy he was! We will miss him so much. One in a million type of a guy. OUr prayers are with all of you!
I never saw Matt without his contagious smile. He was equally at ease chatting with a 3 or an 83 year old. We will all miss him and think of him often.
Matt was such an amazing person, he was always helpful and courteous and would always go out of his way to help you. He truly loved his job and we all loved him. He will be missed very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Orth family and Rachel. May peace be with you.
Roxy and family, I can only imagine the turmoil in your life and heart today. Solo sorry for you all. I did not know your son but after reading about his life, I wish I had the pleasure. Much Love,
Joan Lentner Mahalak
I knew Matt from my trips down to California during the winters. Always great for a conversation, a laugh and a smile. We truly have lost a great person in the golf business, and his friends and family have lost a truly wonderful man. My sincere sympathies to all who have known Matt.
Our saddened hearts are heavy as we write this. We knew Matt through golfing events at DMGCC, especially Junior Golf events. He was kind, genuine and always willing to help. His smile was infectious. Just a wonderful person to be around. What he was truly gifted at was working with kids. Kids tended to be the toughest critics and they LOVED Matt as we all did. He will be truly missed! We count ourselves lucky to have known such an extraordinary person as Matt. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wonderful wife, Rachel and the entire Orth family. May peace be with all of you.
Don’t even know what to say. Even though I had only met him a few times, I still consider him a great friend. My thoughts are with the family. RIP Matt. You were a great man.
My heart weighs heavy at this time. I am at a lose for words with this tradgedy shall I say…Rachel may you find all the strenghth in this world to guide you through this. Scott, Roxanne, and Travis may you also find strengh through all of this. I will always be here for any of you and I pray that Matt’s smile finds a smile soon in all of you! Love to all of you!
I knew Matt from Des Moines Golf and he was one of the kindest and most personable people I have ever met. He will truly be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family at this very difficult time. RIP Matt.
Our sincere sympathies to Rachel and the entire Orth family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. As members at DMG&CC we had the pleasure of seeing Matt on a regular basis. He was always quick with a friendly, greeting and a big smile. We will truly miss this wonderful young man.
Matt will truly be missed by everyone who knew him. The Cathedral High School Class of 2002 has lost a good friend.
Even though I hadn’t seen you in years, I will always treasure the memories we had and will remember your smile, laugh and kind soul. I can see that carried on throughout your life and it’s evident the positive impact you had on everyone you came in contact with. You will be missed terribly. My thoughts and prayers are with Rachel and your family.
It is with very heavy hearts and lumps in our throats that we send this message today. Matt, you were simply, one-of-a-kind and are already so terribly missed. We Bachs ADORED you! Gracie was even to the point that she wouldn’t take a lesson or have a play day, unless “it was with Matt”! Your guidance and inspiration that you provided our kids was unmatched, and the hole you leave is so much bigger than what happens on a golf course. It will certainly not be the same without you. We have talked many times these last couple of days about seeing you last Friday night at our Twilight, whizzing by us on a golf cart, with that infectious smile, hollering, “Hey, Bachs! Hook ’em Horns!”. Thank you, Matt for just being you! May the peace that passes all understanding be with your beautiful wife, family, co-workers and friends at this very difficult time. Though it hurts like nothing else, we know that we are grateful for knowing you, blessed that you were part of our lives, and will forever be an Angel on our shoulders. You will always be in our hearts. Now…”Keep your head down, bend your knees, eye on the ball, follow-through…”
I have had the pleasure of calling Matt a friend for many years.
My thoughts and prayers are with Rachel and the entire Orth family.
He will truly be missed by all whose life he touched and impacted in such a profound and positive way.
My condolences to all of Matt’s family and friends.
I have many fond memories of Matt from his time at The Minikahda Club. We are all very saddened to hear this news. Our thoughts and prayers to Rachel and Matt’s family. Matt was wise beyond his years. We are all very sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy to all of you.
To a dear, dear friend, as I look back through our memories there are some many times that you have made me laugh. You smile was never ending and your kind spirit will never be forgotten. You will be dearly missed by so many. My deepest sympathies to your wife Rachel and your parents and family. My heart breaks for all of you. “When a person becomes a memory that memory becomes a treasure” That is what you have always been Matt.
Matt had an ability to make each child feel like the most important!! We will always remember his big contagious smile!!! He was the very best mentor a mother could ask for her son!! Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, family, coworkers, and friends! Matt will be in our hearts forever!
Matt and Family:
Our deepest sympathy. Your friendship and kindness cannot be replaced! You are already terribly missed and our entire family feels the loss. Your passion and kindness has inspired all 3 of our boys interest in golf but anyone could have simply taught our juniors the game. More importantly, you took the time to teach them the value and honor of integrity through the game. That, my friend, taught us all about you! Thank you for sharing your love with us as all too early you have been taken. God Bless you and your entire family in this tragic loss.
Matts consistent attentiveness and kindness shown to everyone at DMGCC was so appreciated by Kent and I. We will greatly miss his smiling face and friendly manner.
We will continue praying for peace that far surpasses all understanding for Matts family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Rachel and his parents and to every person that was luck enough to meet such a fantastic person. Thank you Matt for changing my life for the better! Matt, you will be missed so much, by so many. Your work w/ the kids at DMGCC was outstanding! I was told that you can judge a man’s character by how he treats children. Matt, I have so many good memories with you from high school – specifically all of the funny nicknames you came up with for me and our friends while we were supposed to be paying attention in Biology. And, of course, all of the nights we hung out on weekends with everyone. You old car from high school, you listening to the Steve Miller Band…your laugh and happy spirit are two of the greatest things about you and will be missed by us all forever. Always a caring friend and a good-hearted person, you will be remembered and missed forever. My love and prayers go out to your wife, family and friends…rest in peace.
