Ralph J. Derichs

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at St. John the Baptist Abbey Church in Collegeville for Ralph J. Derichs, age 81 of Luxemburg and formerly of St. Joseph who died Monday, January 14, 2008. Rev. Eugene McGlothlin, OSB will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (TODAY) Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ralph was born on June 13, 1926 in Elrosa, Minnesota to John C. and Mary (Stang) Derichs. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. Ralph married Rose B. Danzl on June 13, 1964. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Collegeville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

Ralph is survived by his loving companion, Christy Weber of Luxemburg; children, Dennis (Carol) Derichs of Otsego, Dale (Gloria) Derichs of Brooklyn Center; step-children, Dennis (Kay) Danzl of Bowlus, Rosemary Schneider of Eagan, Jerry Danzl of St. Cloud, Richard Danzl of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren, Matthew, Curtis, Madeline Derichs; seven step-grandchildren, Brian, Steve, Lisa, Julie, Craig and Sarah Danzl and Aric Schneider; brothers and sisters, Julia Hoelker, Bob, Roman, Rosie Rooney and Dorothy Kemper.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose in 1992; brothers and sisters, Agnes, Harold, Lorraine, Marion, Gilbert and Jerome.
