Renee G. Kuschel

Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, August 18, 2011, at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN, for Renee Genevieve Kuschel, age 88 of St. Cloud. Mrs. Kuschel died on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at the Talahi Care Center in St. Cloud. Deacon Steve Yanish the Chaplin at Talahi Care Center will officiate. Interment will be in the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery at Little Falls, MN.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. and on Thursday, August 18 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. all at Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud.

Mrs. Kuschel was born on January 11, 1923 the daughter of Anthony S. and Mary (Buersken) Zwack at St. Cloud, MN. She grew up in Royalton, MN where she graduated from High School in 1940. She was united in marriage to Richard L. Kuschel on March 13, 1943 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Ingelwood, CA. Seven children were born to this union. She lived most of her married life in St. Cloud where she worked part time as a waitress for many years at the Ace Bar and Café.

After Mr. Kuschel died on March 28, 1995, Renee continued to make her home in St. Cloud and later lived a short time at Care Free Living before becoming a resident of the Talahi Care Center. This has been her home since that time.

She is survived by: her six children Charlene (Gary) Hentges of Brooklyn Park, MN, Connie (Jim) Melton of Washington, IL, Coleen Freyman of Bellingham, MN, Carol (Ralph) Theisen of Shreveport, LA, Richard (Karen) Kuschel of St. Cloud and Ronald (Ann) Kuschel of Becker, MN, 12 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren, one brother Robert (Shirley) Zwack of Rogers, MN and one sister Gloria (Donald) Jones of St. Cloud, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother Herbert and an infant daughter.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Talahi Care Center for the love and compassion they gave to Renee these past few years.
