Richard J. Kucala

January 4, 1940 – October 15, 2007

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday, October 19, 2007 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in St. Cloud for Richard J. “Dick” Kucala, age 67, of St. Cloud who passed away unexpectedly at his home from a heart attack. Burial will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 11 a.m.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday, October 18 at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be at 6 p.m. followed by Eagle’s Aerie 622 at 6:30 p.m. and V.F.W. Post 428 at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church.

Richard was born January 4, 1940 in St. Cloud, MN to John and Delphine (Kloskowski) Kucala. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 – 1960. He married Darlene Partch on August 22, 1964 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sauk Rapids. He worked at the V.A. Medical Center for 33 years, retiring in 1994 as a Food Service Supervisor. He was currently employed at Auto Value of St. Cloud. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, a life member of the V.F.W. Post 428, Disabled American Veterans and Eagles Aerie 622.

Richard loved going fishing, especially with his grandchildren. He loved to play cards, joke with his family and friends, and unwinding at the Eagles with Darlene. He will be remembered as the heart and soul of his family and will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his wife Darlene of St. Cloud, children Debbie (Marc) Lang of St. Cloud and Tim (Debbie) of St. Cloud, grandchildren Corey (Melissa), Justin and Natasha Pulliam, Mitchell, Jeremy and T.J. Kucala, brothers David of St. Cloud, Robert (Maureen) of Pensacola, FL, and sister Bernadette (Danny) Peters of Brainerd.

Preceding him in death are his parents, sister Theresa, and son-in-law Brian Pulliam.
