Robert C. Buermann

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2011 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville for Robert C. Buermann, age 90, of Paynesville, who passed away peacefully on July 6 at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville. Entombment will take place in the St. Louis Parish Mausoleum.

Relatives and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 10 at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. The St. Louis Catholic United Financial along with the Richmond Catholic Order of Foresters and the St. Joseph’s Men’s Society of Roscoe will pray a rosary at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday.

Robert was born January 21, 1921 in St. Martin to John and Elizabeth (Blonigen) Buermann. He grew up near Richmond on Big Lake. He married Dorothy Eickhoff on May 8, 1946 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich. He worked as a hired farm hand for Charlie Heuer and in 1948 he purchased the farm. In 1986 they bought a home between Roscoe and Paynesville and he continued to enjoy farming with his son Rich on the family farm. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Catholic United Financial, St. Joseph’s Men’s Society and Richmond Catholic Order of Foresters.

Robert enjoyed Square Dancing and was a member of the Eager Beavers Square Dance Club in Melrose. Dorothy and Robert enjoyed traveling, having visited Germany, Ireland, Canada, New York, and Tennessee. He loved playing cards, fishing, parish festivals and spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years Dorothy of Paynesville, daughters Mary Jane Lahr of Paynesville and Carol Ann Buermann of Sauk Centre, sons Gerald (Mary Jo) Buermann of Paynesville, Jeff (Terry Fredrick) Buermann of Paynesville, Rich (Karen) Buermann of Paynesville, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, brothers Roman, Herb, Joe and John Buermann and sisters Martha Rothstein and Irma Rothstein.

Preceding him in death were his parents, son James (2008), brothers Martin, Ed, twin brother Norbert and sisters Sally Buermann, Eleanor Bloch and Alma Mohs.
