Robert C. Schindler

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph for Robert C. Schindler, age 77 of St. Joseph who passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Augusta. Reverend Joseph Feders, OSB will officiate. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday and after 12:00 Noon on Tuesday at the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home in St. Joseph.
Bob was born on June 25, 1934 in St. Joseph, Minnesota to Herbert and Loretta (Iten) Schindler. He married Alice M. Ritter on June 6, 1956 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany. Bob was employed by Champion Paper Mill in Sartell for 43 years retiring in 1998. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, St. Joe Rod and Gun Club, St. Joseph Historical Society and he volunteered at the St. Joseph Food Shelf.
Bob enjoyed fishing, playing cards and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; children, Denny (Clair) of St. Cloud, Doug (Glenda) of St. Stephen, Donny (Brenda) of Avon and Lori (Ken) Nesheim of Minneapolis; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brother, Ray (Karen) of Sartell; sister, Jeanette (Clarence) Justin of St. Stephen; sister-in-law, Fran Schindler of Luxemburg; step-brothers, Jack Rassier of St. Joseph and Howard Rassier of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Duane “Duke”; daughters, Vicki and Mary; and brother, Jim.
