Robert Fred Jacobs was born in St. Cloud on July 18, 1933 to Frank and Cecelia (Bellmont) Jacobs. He called St. Cloud home his entire life and served his country in the US Army from 1955-1957. He married Donna Mae Zanoth on August 31, 1963; God called her from his side on October 9, 1964. Robert married his “Sweetie” Luella V. Sudtelgte on July 25, 1970. He put himself through college and graduated from SCSU. Robert was a math teacher for 30 years in Albany; he retired in 1995. He was a member of St. Michael’s Parish, and the Eagles Aerie #622. His “putzing” in his workshop showed his craftsmanship and intelligence. His garden was his favorite summer pastime. He enjoyed fishing, some hunting, travelling, playing cards, watching birds, and having his grandkids around. Robert was a loving, caring and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Robert is survived and will forever be missed by: his wife of 42 years, Lue; son Paul (Amber) of Cold Spring; grandchildren Cameron, Emmerson, Lillyan; sisters Dolores Utecht of Eden Valley, Donna Mae (Ray) Ruff of Brooklyn Park, and Evelyn (Robert) Briggs of St. Cloud; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Donna; half-sister Mary Monica OSF; half-brothers Ervin and Gilbert.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Doctors and Staff at Coborn Cancer Center, the St. Cloud Hospital, and the Quiet Oaks Hospice House. Special thanks to Dr. Girum Lemma.

The obit. leaves out the part about how Bob was such a great neighbor and the asset he was to the community. He was always sharing his smile and friendly wave. Now his pain is over and he is enjoying eternal life. We will miss him lots…….and Lou, we’re here for you. Morris and the Keelings

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I met Bob back at a small Jacob family get together in 2001 at Schroder Park. I heard he wanted to plan another this summer. He will be missed from the “Jacob Clan”, may he rest in peace.
